About Us and Your Wedding
Video
Learn about
the couple who will film, edit and produce your lovely wedding
video!
Well
where do I start ?, The beginning I suppose. We started filming
wedding videos by filming our friends wedding. We wanted the video
to look special and be a great gift for them for years to come.
We sat down and looked at various demos and they all suffered
from the same drawbacks. The videographer didn't seem to care,
they didn't use tripods for the service to get steady shots, and
often only used the on-board microphone so that the sound was
poor and the cameraman had to get close to the couple, spoiling
any intermacy they had. We talked to various contacts we had in
the world of television and discussed everything with them to
come up with our own techniques that produce professional wedding
videos that everybody enjoys.
We produced the wedding video for our friends
and we were soon called upon other friends, and friends of friends
to film their wedding videos. We really enjoyed the day and the
experience. We enjoy walking as our main hobby hence the pictures,
but soon we had a new hobby. We went on and filmed more wedding
videos for people who had been recommended by our friends or their
friends. Quickly what was intended as a hobby became our life
and at the end of 2003 decided to film weddings on a more commercial
basis and started to advertise.
When
a couple intends to book us Adrian (left) likes to pop around
and see them so we can go over the couples ideas and plans, so
we are focused on their wedding and style. He often visits the
couple or their parents if they live away, since it makes it easier
on the couple. The couple don't have to travel and visit various
shops or people on the weekend which takes up all their time,
Adrian visits you at your convienience in the week.
Over the last 6-7 years the wedding video
industry has changed. Initially the Videographers had been around
for 20+ years going back to the eighties and produced everything
in a linear fashion on VHS tape. Around 2002 recordable DVD's
started to appear and become mainstream. This meant the old linear
style of producing wedding videos could not compete with the new
Non-Linear computer edited style of producing Digital Video. This
meant the loss of most of the old-style videographers. When the
DVD formats changed from DVD-R to DVD+R most of the Videographers
who had managed to become computer literate could not cope with
the changing standards, they produced DVD's that did not work
on peoples DVD players. This created a shortage of experienced
Videographers.
Now that the DVD standard has finally been standardised
and lots of new and inexperienced videographers have emerged to
fill the void. They see the prices some people charge and emulate
them, some haven't even videoed a wedding before. They often buy
in a flashy website with wedding pictures that haven't even been
taken by them. We find this distressing
since the couples spend thousands on their wedding day only to
have the day ruined by greedy inexpereinced amateurs.
Hopefully you have found this interesting
and informative. We have years of expereince of producing quality
wedding videos as can be seen by our on-line samples. We design
and produce everything ourselves, with pictures or footage from
our own video cameras. If you intend to have your special day
videoed and we are booked (
we offer a personal service and can only film one wedding per
day) then please look closer at the company that will video your
day. Ask to see samples , not just clips but full wedding videos
and most of all ensure you are confident & comfortable with
them.
